Scary Maze

I remember the first (and only) time I played this game was when my ex, Aliff told me to play it and I was all alone during the wee hours of the night with the volume turned right up and my face was so freaking near the screen! The moment that face came on, I ran like hell away from the computer and refused to look at the screen when I gathered my guts to go back to the computer to immediately cut the power to the computer!! After that, I refused to talk to him for over a week! :P

If you want to play the game, just Google "scary maze".

KLCC

My new temporary dragon tat

Now Playing : "Feels Like Home" - Newton Faulkner

While on my way to the place I'm going to discuss later on *smirk*, I was in the LRT minding my own business when four teenage girls came on board and stood next to me. They talked and laughed really loudly and even sat on the floor, which kind of irritated me but it's not really something you'd pull your AK-47 out at. Then, as the journey progressed, one of the girls let go of the metal pole and proceeded to take out her nail polish and paint her nails. While standing-cum-balancing in the mega shaky train. I watched.

The she spilled the bottle of nail polish on to her shirt. Screams of "FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!" whilst frantically trying to wipe off the polish from her shirt erupted in the train. I smirked for the rest of the journey. I'm cruel, I know.

Anyway, I was out with the family today at KLCC and if you might recall, I have been to Aquaria at least four times--three times more often than any Malaysian should go since the attractions there don't always change and that it costs a bomb to enter--and yes, you guessed it, today I visited the aquarium again since Ian craved to see some fish.

First of all, let me tell you that I was surprised during this visit. Notice I didn't say pleasantly. First off, my mother had a pet peeve that no one was manning the touch pool and with sharks--albeit non-dangerous bamboo sharks. I'd hate to see the end result of children poking endlessly at them.

Secondly, it was quite obvious that Aquaria's fish stock has noticeably diminished. In the tunnel thingy, we spotted only three sharks and two stingrays. Even the other schools of fish seemed to be missing quite a few members. Also, all the baby turtles were missing.

Very, very odd.

We couldn't figure it out and kept drawing possible conclusions, one of which was perhaps the fish here got poisoned too! Then, it hit us. The most likely reason would be that Aquaria transferred some (or like half) of its fish stock (sounding like a menu now) to the sabo-ed Langkawi aquarium. We wallowed in our genius. Anyone want to hop over to Langkawi's aquarium to check?

The trip wasn't too bad in any case, since two mini mini mini displays of jellyfish were put up, including some non-aquatic animals like an owl, a giant squirrel, a bearcat, leopard cat and a civet. Do they even live near an ocean?

Also, we got temporary tattoos! Ian got a Pikachu, June had two tats which I can't really remember its design and I got a dragon on my left arm! So normally I wouldn't go for dragons and stuff like that--it's more of what Jules would probably get--but as soon as I saw this I liked it.

And you know what they say about love at first sight...

Rise of Nations

Tonight's event will truly be forever and ever etched into my memory. Why?

Because I BEAT Ian in Rise of Nations!!

It was a four hour battle and over four thousand clicks between us, but in the end the soreness of our fingers and our aching backs were totally worth the time spent. And to think, that I learned how to play this game only yesterday--although I did spend 6 hours familiarizing myself with it last night hehe!

LOL I guess at this point in time I really am one of those people with too much time on my hands! But being a person who isn't really interested in computer games, this game is very interesting and had captured my attention from the moment I saw Phil playing it. Now that I've played--and won--this game, I think I'm hooked for life!

Before you hand me a snide remark saying that it's no big deal, Ian's only 9 years old...that's true, he really is just 9 years old but he's the (obsessive) gamer in the family and he's a really smart kid especially when it comes to games and to beat him--well, let's just say I'll be bragging to him about it for awhile! *wink*

Ahh...I shall sleep tonight (or what's left of tonight, since the battle ended at 4am) with a huge grin on my face. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The A/C With A Mind of Its Own

Now Playing : "Cash Machine" - Hard-Fi

I don't get my air-conditioner. Seriously.

One moment it's freezing like the Arctic, the next it's sweltering like the Sahara. It's been *repaired* numerous and countless times and yet it's still toying with us. Many times I feel like yelling at it...

"Hey buddy, if I wanted a heater
I'd get one--in Greenland!"

And it's not just the sweating that I hate when my a/c decides to switch personalities to becoming a heater, but I fear for all the electronics in the room which does seem to become hotter than usual. I don't need a multiple personality disorder a/c!

Yes yes, I know what you would say. Buy a new a/c! I can tell you veeeery honestly that yes, I wish I could but who would give me--willingly--a thousand bucks for a new a/c? I don't have that kind of money or else I most certainly would chuck this defective a/c out the window.

And now my laptop is overheating. *Sigh*

The Scale Is My Frenemy

Now Playing : www.theclassicalstation.org

I want a new body.
I want a new body.
I want a new body.

*Clicks heels three times*

Bleh! If only it was as easy peasy as Dorothy's method. Sooo, updates updates. Well, I've lost a total of 12 pounds since I started dieting on Oct 19 and although I admit it's taking rather slow to shed the pounds, I'm glad that I haven't broken my diet woohoo! and that I do see some results in the mirror--which sadly, does not reflect on the scales. Ho hum.

Also, this time I've been keeping a diet diary of sorts. Hopefully this technique would help me not to abandon my diet (again) and lead me to my desired (and I really do mean desired ;) ) weight.

I've also found it quite hard to motivate myself to get my lazy ass on to the treadmill, and June, Jules and Fred have been nagging me to join Fitness First gym. To tell the truth, I'd rather do my exercise on my own--you know, something in private. Does it sound odd? I had considered joining True Fitness gym because 1. they have a pool and 2. nobody I know would be there, but after reading numerous negative remarks of that place, that is now not an option for me.

Ah well, I'll figure something out. ;)

Beautiful beautiful

Now Playing : "Twilight and Shadow" - Howard Shore ROTK(OST)

My eyes swelled with clear, salty liquid and the tiny beads of tears trickled down my cheeks. My heart beat faster with each overwhelming sight and sound. Ah...memories of my first viewing of The Lord of the Rings : The Return of The King at the cinema come flashing back.

What a truly, truly beautiful film that supersedes all other movies ever made. I have seen this movie (including its trilogy) many, many times and just a moment ago after completing yet another LOTR marathon...I am left incredibly overwhelmed once again and the tears naturally and instantly pour out. Oh, what a true genius mix of storytelling, music and technology!

Peter Jackson. you. absolutely. undoubtedly. rock.

Trio

Now Playing : "Tonight" - Hard-Fi

Happy 22nd Birthday, Jules!!!
Finals are finally over!!!
I got a totally new haircut!!!

Trio.

I would have posted more pictures of tonight's fun fun fun birthday celebration but I think Jules is going to take care of that on her blog. I hope you'll find my gift veeery useful and if you don't, don't tell me anyway hahaha! I absolutely enjoyed myself immensely during our little joyride in the car and it was the fun fun fun time that was the cause of all the giggles and the hysterical laughter and not the alcohol!

Look! Nice pictures of us!

Likey my new haircut?
(Wish I had a better picture boo!)

Wolfenstein 3D

Now Playing : "One of These Days" - Doves

Back in the days when I was about 9 or 10 years old, I had a desktop (running pre-Win 95 and dial-up internet) where I would do only three things;
  1. mIRC
  2. Encarta CD-ROM
  3. Wolfenstein 3D
For the longest time, I tried getting help from my friends who love playing computer games (I don't) to remember the name of the above mentioned game but failed. It was as though no one knew what I was talking about and since it was so long ago, the details of the game and how to access it (it had specific access steps) are vague to me.

But today, as I was reading a list of banned computer games, I came across Wolfenstein 3D, whose name did not ring a bell to me (since I don't think I ever knew the name of the game anyway) but the moment I saw a screenshot of it, I knew I finally found it. I was ecstatic that I finally found out the name of the game which I was so obsessed with during my pre-internet days!

Unfortunately, I've downloaded the game, both Windows and Mac platform and am saddened to find out that I can't play it--for who knows why! I'm pretty miffed at this, after the many years of craving to play this game again. Maybe I'll enlist help from Darren *SMILES*

That being said, it's not true that I don't play computer games *smirk* I just gotta have the right one *wink*

Sushi-licious

Now Playing : "Cannonball" - Damien Rice

Family, as much as you love them, is the biggest threat to one's diet. The last time I posted here, I reported that I've lost 7 pounds. Then that number increased to 11 pounds.

But that was more than a week ago!

I blame it on my mother's sinfully delicious cooking. Everything she cooks is so good and worse, so addictive that once I pop, I can't stop! Before you know it, you've gone over quota. Yiiiiikes!

I haven't really been able to follow my diet regime properly (or at all) this week and so I thought today I'd steer clear of food and the kitchen--you know, just to make up for lost time.

Two words : Wishful thinking.

My mum decided to make maki sushi today. MAKI SUSHI!! Her delicious maki sushi which she hasn't made in at least two years! Today! I know sushi is healthy and low-fat and definitely better than anything else I could consume while on a diet but as I said, the popping-into-mouth never stops. And with the maki sushi alone today, I highly suspect I went over my quota again! Plus, of course, you know that these rolls have Japanese mayo and ebiko which makes up a higher fat content along with the high carb content.

Sigh.

But the maki sushi was excellent. One was a california roll maki and the other an unagi maki. *gasp* My mouth waters at the very thought of it!

Unbreakable

Now Playing : "Inconsolable" - Backstreet Boys

Unbreakable.

That is the exact word to describe my enthusiasm for these guys.

After all these years of being a truly devoted fan (almost 12 years now), the Backstreet Boys has never served up one single disappointment and their newest album, Unbreakable reminds us that while there are (more) hugely successful pop acts out there right now dominating the airwaves (Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears ring a bell?) the now-quartet are the true kings of Pop. With strong and distinguishable vocals, BSB truly stands out from the sea of mostly-now-defunct boy bands and they always deliver to their inconsolable fans.

For me, the Backstreet Boys are synonymous with my childhood and teen years. Here are just some of my life connected to them;
  1. The very first CD I ever owned was their very first album, Backstreet Boys
  2. The very first male celebrity I had a major crush on for my entire teenage years was Nick Carter.
  3. 99% of pin-ups and posters that used to be blue-tacked on my wall were of the BSB.
  4. I wrote fan fiction with them in it.
  5. I wrote fan mail to them.
  6. I continued to buy all their albums--original, naturally.
  7. I bought every magazine with even the tiniest article in them--heck, I bought magazines which had pictures of them in it.
  8. I cut out newspaper articles of them.
  9. I cried FURIOUSLY when their only concert here was cancelled.
  10. My then best friend, Estu and I listened religiously to their CDs to make sure we memorized each Backstreet Boy's voices.
  11. I collected all their concerts on video tapes.
  12. I waited each week for the Billboard Top 100 tv show just to record their music videos.
  13. I definitely memorized all the lyrics.
  14. I listened to the entire Rick Dees' Top 40 just to find out if they hit top ten.
  15. The CD shop is my first destination whenever news of a new album comes out.
  16. I will never ever buy pirated Backstreet Boys albums.
  17. Rejoiced like no tomorrow when Millennium became the fastest selling record of the 90s and they won like, a million awards.
Backstreet Boys, don't ever break-up because you are one of God's gifts to good music.

Roar

Now Playing : "Barracuda" - Heart

I finally got myself Apple's new Mac OS X Leopard with an extra 1GB RAM and a 250GB external hard drive to boot! I got my hands on them over the weekend and have been meddling with them ever since! Leopard is pretty spankin' cool overall, but I was kind of disappointed to discover that some features I commonly use have been taken away as well. Boo! One of its new feature, Time Machine allowed me to back up my entire hard drive--a milestone in my non-backing up habits ever since I acquired my Powerbook! Heh! Unfortunately, it's not without flaw because it over back ups and therefore it keeps eating up all the valuable space off my external HD bah! Speaking of valuable, the whole combo didn't come kindly to my pockets because the grand total spent to acquire all the above came to RM1114!

But you know...it's all so worth it. *grins*

My Mac OS X Leopard

250GB worth of extra space!! Woot!
(And yes, I named it Massey :P)

Funny/Cute Maria Sharapova Ad!

I love this!

Puds

Puddles was looking oh-so-cute tonight and I just had to snap some pictures of him! Unfortunately, I couldn't get too many shots before the camera flashlights scared the pooch away, which was quite amusing to see him scurry off when he saw me coming with the camera!

Stress

Oh the woes of a student!
