Cure for the Itch

Now Playing : "Bones" - Editors

After a two day hiatus from blogging, I've decided to give my fingers a break from the neverending tedious scratching and put them back to work on the keyboard. People, I'm back for your reading pleasure. I must say though, that inbetween the incessant scratching and carrying on with everyday life as normally as I could without having to run into a phone booth like Clark Kent to scratch (not change into tight spandex), I haven't got much to blog about... unless you want to hear me rant how I've been scratching until my nails become polished. No kidding! Also found out something new about myself--well, more like realized. Ol' doc Herbert has told me that I have hypersensitive skin. Go figure.

Good thing I don't have a personality to match, eh? *wink*

I wonder if I can work this to my advantage of getting high-end skin products...

Since it's been pretty shitty looking like a deformed person from some horror movie with bad special effects, I've treated myself to buying another two CDs (in addition to the other two I've recently bought), bringing up the number to four CDs bought in under two months. Quite rare for me to do really! Anyhoo, I treated myself to Billy Corgan's TheFutureEmbrace and the Editors' new album, An End Has A Start. Let me just point out that Shakespeare did have a point with his "What's in a Name?" question.

TheFutureEmbrace is much better than Zeitgeist.

The moniker "Smashing Pumpkins" doesn't really make Billy Corgan's talents shine out more than expected and perhaps can even cause opposite results. He probably shouldn't have used the name SP to win sales for Zeitgeist but rather "BC*lightning*JC". I think that would have been much more apt.

As for the Editors' new album, it's pretty good--and it had me at first listen *wink*--but I think I'm safe to say that the new songs are lacking a certain kick that The Back Room's songs had. I dunno, maybe it's just me. But BR's songs were more distinct. However, "Bones" would come pretty close to BR's sound and is currently the song I like best from this new album.

Okay, I'm done with CD reviews. I'm off to bed and to dream of a scratch-free world.
