Party Planner
Ian's birthday party is coming up this Saturday and yours truly has volunteered to include a game or two into the itinerary--right there between eating, video games and cake--just so the lot does not spend four hours glued in front of the telly.
This isn't my first time coming up with games for a kids party, although technically all those previous years doesn't count as it doesn't take two seconds to throw musical chairs and hide and seek into the mesh. And since now that I'm teaching, hey, who better than to direct those skills into contributing something to this party?
I spent the past week experimenting with a game or two with my classes, whenever I was able to sneak some time. I basically suck at coming up with creative games, so I did what I know best--a general knowledge game. The very mention of the name made my kids literally groan at the possible dullness by the sound of it.
However, they soon changed their minds. Here's how the game works;
1. Divide kids into smaller groups
2. Distribute sheets of paper and pencils to one elected member of each group
3. Ask questions
4. Kids get 60 seconds to write down as many answers as they can come up with
5. Points are awarded based on how many correct answers they give
6. Winner gets bragging rights for the day
This is a list of questions I've been able to come up with so far and have tested;
Name as many...
1. Countries which names end with -land
2. Animals which live on both land and in water
3. Insects which do not have any color of the rainbow
4. Countries which names end with -a
5. Animals which names start with the letter C
The kids really enjoyed these games, but I'm running out of ideas. I try not to ask easy questions like no.5 and prefer those which require a little more thinking (no.1-4). Any ideas? I would appreciate it!

Rise of Nations
Now Playing : www.solopianoradio.com
Tonight's event will truly be forever and ever etched into my memory. Why?
Because I BEAT Ian in Rise of Nations!!
It was a four hour battle and over four thousand clicks between us, but in the end the soreness of our fingers and our aching backs were totally worth the time spent. And to think, that I learned how to play this game only yesterday--although I did spend 6 hours familiarizing myself with it last night hehe!
LOL I guess at this point in time I really am one of those people with too much time on my hands! But being a person who isn't really interested in computer games, this game is very interesting and had captured my attention from the moment I saw Phil playing it. Now that I've played--and won--this game, I think I'm hooked for life!
Before you hand me a snide remark saying that it's no big deal, Ian's only 9 years old...that's true, he really is just 9 years old but he's the (obsessive) gamer in the family and he's a really smart kid especially when it comes to games and to beat him--well, let's just say I'll be bragging to him about it for awhile! *wink*
Ahh...I shall sleep tonight (or what's left of tonight, since the battle ended at 4am) with a huge grin on my face. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I hope you'll find my gift veeery useful and if you don't, don't tell me anyway hahaha! I absolutely enjoyed myself immensely during our little joyride in the car and it was the fun fun fun time that was the cause of all the giggles and the hysterical laughter and not the alcohol!
Look! Nice pictures of us!

Wallpaper Showdown Fun!
Now Playing : "Stay Where You Are" - Ambulance Ltd
Jules and I--we're geeks. We've chosen to ignore the loud blaring "Assignments Due!" alarm going off in our heads to race against each other to put up our 10 most favorite wallpapers. Why? I have no idea. We have no idea. But it was fun and why we found it funny--ah, that's the wonder of it all! It was no easy task to shortlist my 10 from a collection of 1524 wallpapers but alas, I've dunnit! While I have many favorites, I've decided to put up the 10 most frequently used ones. You can view Jules' top 10 here.

Photoshop Frenzy
Now Playing : "Freedom" - Robbie Williams
OK, I admit I got a little carried away with playing around with Photoshop tonight. Ever since sifu cousin Kelz taught me how to brush (not of the toothpaste variety), I've been trying multiple brushes out for hours on end! It's highly addictive and fun! I thought I'd share some of my *creative* works that I've been slaving over the past couple of hours. Enjoy!
